- 1/2 cup coconut flakes
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Special Equipment Needed:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, and 1/4 tsp of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

2. Add 1 cup of all-purpose flour to the saucepan and stir continuously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.

4. Add 4 eggs, one at a time, to the mixture, beating well after each addition.

5. Add 1/2 cup of coconut flakes to the mixture and stir until well combined.

6. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

7. Fill a piping bag with the mixture and pipe it into the hot oil, making 3-inch-long strips.

8. Fry the strips until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

9. Remove the fried strips from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

10. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of water, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves.
